Pinterest is the newest and in my opinion, greatest, social media outlet to hit society. It provides users with something new and different that is super creative and clever.
This is one social media outlet that you can spend hours on and not be a total waste of time. It gives you your own personal place to keep, access, and gather a bunch of different things that inspire you, with the ability to refer back to them any time.
Users can upload their own content as pins, re-pin their friends pins, or search categories to see anything that is currently going around the entire Pinterest community at that time. You chose who's boards to follow based on what content updates you want to receive and stay connected with.
This brilliant concept means that pins circulate all over with an endless amount of potential viewers to re-pin the images, therefore passing along every newly discovered thing.
As a pinner myself, I am confident that these pins boost the web traffic on their associated sites - which get checked out constantly so users can see what else can be found there.
Pictures uploaded from the web include links that forward pinners to their specific place on the website where the picture originally came from. Therefore, the appeal and provided access of promoted images are a strategy used for introducing people to new sites, brands and consumer products.
If someone sees something they really like, they will most likely check out the entire website to see what else is offered that they might be interested in. I have personally discovered new online shops, blogs, websites etc by doing just that.
Being a small business owner, I believe Pinterest is the smartest marketing tool to use for attempting to gain customers and overall views by promotion of your items or brand.
If you are trying to advertise a company, have any purpose or intention that will benefit from using this tool, I highly recommend it.
It's great for discovering all kinds of retail merchandise, new people/places/things, and locating topics that spark personal interests such as: fashion related material like outfit ideas, recipes for cooking, ideas for home decor, do it yourself projects, photography, quotes and so much more.
