One of my favorite styles to use when designing a new piece is the "twist style". It allows you to combine many different colors and textures while still looking cohesive and interesting.

The way I start to come up with a twist necklace is by lining up all kinds of different beads together to see which ones work together.

You can use as many or as little strands or types of beads as you want depending on the look you are going for. A 3 strand twist using the same bead for each strand to create a single color/bead necklace is a safe and simple option but still very popular and desired.

If you want to go for more of a statement piece, incorporate a variety of colors/beads with more strands - this can even be done with a few strands if you wanted a simpler but unique look.

I have learned that the best thing to do is play around with designing different looks to give yourself an idea of what works and inspires you.
