How Vintage Jewelry Can Be Made Current

Magazine advertisements and editorials are full of innovative, creative styles. One of the clever details that many stylists as well as your average fashionable woman incorporate into an outfit is vintage jewelry. They add a twist to any look with the older, classic yet unusual style that definitely makes a unique and interesting statement.

However, some of the older jewelry is hard to actually wear or may be out of style, such as clip-on earrings or brooches. But with a little help, they can transform into a current, wearable one of a kind piece, which is what I do in my necklace collection. 

Having my own special tricks and techniques is important to me, so I wanted to offer something different yet simple and clever that people would want to wear.

One of my design tricks included in my work, and by far the easiest, is turning great clip-on earrings into a necklace pendant. 


All you have to do is remove the clip part and securely attach a loop to hang the earring onto a chain... and voila! You have a vintage pendant necklace.  

It’s so simple, and best of all allows you to stylishly show off rare, fascinating vintage pieces in a wearable way that is fashionable. The same can be done for brooches, regular earrings with posts, and anything else you can come up with.

Adding these accessory pieces give an unexpected touch that will make your style stand out apart from everyone else wearing the same predictable or expected accessories.

Remember – don’t give up a great vintage piece if it’s not completely appealing or wearable as is.  If you find something you really love but has less desirable qualities about it or is too out of style, be creative and think of any possible alterations to make it up to date in a tasteful and chic way so it can be worn!
